私が書いたこれまでの2つのAARは歴史に沿った展開で行い、大国を使っていたので、この最後となるAARでは方針を変えて、比較して弱い国となる、地域強国でプレイしたいと思います。　言うまでも無いことですが、ユーゴスラヴィアをプレイして生き残ると言うことは、歴史に反したゲーム展開となります。　このAARで皆さんにお示ししたい点は、たとえ地域強国や弱小国家でプレイしたとしても、面白いゲームとなるのだと言う事です。

Since my first two AARs were historical and involved major powers, I am going to change direction with this last one and play as a relatively weak regional power. Needless to say, playing Yugoslavia and surviving is going to result in an ahistorical game. The point of this AAR is to show that you can have a fun and interesting game even if you choose to play a regional or minor power.

今回のプレイでの目標はユーゴスラヴィアで世界を征服する事です。　どの陣営に加わるつもりも、属国を解放するつもりもありません。　これはこのゲームの目的が世界を橙色に塗りつぶすことだからです。　このゲームでの難易度の設定は通常/通常です。　ゲームのバージョンはゴールドバージョン*2で、何の修正も加えていません。　他国の研究機関の獲得はできるようにします。　何故ならユーゴスラヴィアの研究機関は比較的偏ったものだからです。　非本国プロヴィンスの全ICを使う選択肢は無効にしてあります。

The goal for this particular game will be to conquer the world with Yugoslavia. I will not be joining any factions or releasing any puppets as the purpose of the game is to paint the world orange. The difficulty setting for this game will be normal/normal. I will be using the gold Version with no modifications. I will be using tech team takeover because Yugoslavia tech teams are rather limited. I will not use full IC takeover

また、読者の皆さんにはマナーを守ってもらうようにお願いします。　このスレッドを、ユーゴスラヴィアのAARでは良くあるような悪口の応酬のようなものにしたくはありません。

I will also ask that everyone stays on topic and behaves themselves. I don't want this thread to degenerate into what normally happens in Yugoslavian AARs.

アーセナル・オブ・デモクラシーとドゥームズデイの基本的な違いについての説明をするつもりはありません。それらは既に今までのAARで行われているからです。

I will not be going over a lot of the basic changes between Arsenal of Democracy and Doomsday since they were already covered in the previous AARs.

新たにゲームを開始する際に、一時停止をしてドクトリンの種類、大臣陣、国策が君のプレイする国に合ったものなのかを確認する事は常に必要です。　私の場合、通常、研究を始めに選択します。　これは使われる研究機関によって、消費財の支出に違いが出るからです。　37年の夏には戦争をする計画なので、その戦争で役に立つであろう技術を集中して開発する必要があります。　考えるまでも無く初期型歩兵師団は含まれます。　なぜなら1936年型の歩兵は1918年型の2倍のソフトユニットへの攻撃力を持つからです。　陸上ドクトリンのタブを見てみると、陸上ドクトリンを研究できる新たな研究機関（Draa Mihailovicの事）がユーゴスラヴィアに追加されている事に気が付きました。　この研究機関はユーゴスラヴィアのもともとの陸上ドクトリンには全く適合していませんが、先鋒突撃ドクトリンには信じられないほど上手く合っています。　よって、先鋒突撃ドクトリンを採用する事にし、人海戦術を放棄しました。　他の物を最初に研究した上で先鋒突撃ドクトリンを37年の夏までに研究し終えるだけの時間はないので、2つ目の研究ラインを使って先鋒突撃ドクトリンを研究する事にしました。

When starting a new game it is always a good idea to check and make sure your starting doctrines, ministers, and national ideas fit the country you are playing. I usually setup my research first because the tech teams you choose are going to affect your consumer goods spending. Since I am planning on going to war in the summer of 37, I need to focus on things that are going to help me in that war. Early Infantry Division is a no brainer because 1936 infantry have twice the soft attack of 1918 infantry. Looking at the Land Doctrine tab, I notice that Yugoslavia has a new tech team for Land Doctrine research. This tech team is a Very poor match for Yugoslavia's starting Land Doctrine, Human Wave Doctrine, but it is an unbelievably good match for Spearhead Doctrine. I decide Spearhead Doctrine is the way to go and abandon Human Wave. Since I don't have time to research something else first and still have Spearhead Doctrine researched by the summer of 37, I decide to research Spearhead Doctrine as my second choice.

外交タブに移って、最初のスライダーの移動で計画経済へと1振りました。　大臣陣を見比べてみて、情報大臣を研究速度5％上昇の人に変更しました。　その他、統合参謀長を25％のMP増加の人に代えただけで、他に変えられる大臣はありません。　国策を確認して、「Conformist Work Ethic」*3をやめることにしました。　なぜなら、これは貴重なMPを減少させてしまうからです。　変更可能な選択肢から、「Culture of Absolute Duty」が気に入りました。　なぜならこれは軍隊の給料を20％削減してくれるだけでなく、指揮統制と輸送能力を増加させてくれるからです。

Moving on to the Diplomatic tab, I make my first slider move towards Central Planning. Looking at my ministers I switch out my Head of Intelligence with someone who increases research by 5%. I can't change any of the other ministers other than the Chief of Staff who gives me 25% more manpower. Looking at my National Ideas, I want to get rid of Conformist Work Ethic because it reduces my precious manpower. Of the available replacements I like Culture of Absolute Duty the best because it reduces my Military Salaries by 20% and increases organization and transport capacity.

その後、生産スライダーを設定して、歩兵を3連続で生産し始めました。　他に初日には、空軍に補充しないようにして、レベル1の潜水艦を解体し、レベル2の駆逐艦を護衛船団に変換しました。

I then set my production sliders and start three serial runs of infantry. Other things I do on the first day include setting my air force to not reinforce, disbanding my level 1 Submarine, and converting my level 2 Destroyer into escorts.

歴史的に強国ではない国でプレイする際には、国境を接している国々の外交状況を確認しておく事が重要なことです。　特に、独立保障について見ることは重要です。　君の国が攻撃する対象国に保障を駆けている国は君の国に対して戦争に参戦する可能性が高いです。　ユーゴスラヴィアでの戦略ではイタリアを可能な限り迅速に占領することが必須となります。　この場合、問題となるのはイタリアに宣戦した場合、ドイツが彼らの同盟国と共にこちらに対して宣戦してくる事です。　これを避ける方法はもちろん、代わりとしてアルバニアに宣戦する事です。　イタリアはアルバニアの独立を保障している唯一の国なので、この場合イタリアの動向のみに注意を払えばいいことになります。

When you are playing a nontraditional power it is important to look at the diplomatic situation of the countries that are bordering your own. It is particularly important to look at independence guarantees. Any country guaranteeing a country you attack is likely to join the war against you. Most Yugoslavian strategies involve taking over Italy as soon as possible. The problem is that if I declare war on Italy Germany will declare on me along with whoever else Germany allies with. The way to get around this of course is to declare war on Albania instead. Since Italy is the only country that guarantees Albania it is the only one I have to worry about.

これにより、我が国の最初の目標が決まったので、攻撃の方法を見つける必要があります。　明らかに、アルバニアは大きな障害とはならないので、アルバニア方面には2、3師団のみを配置しておけばいいでしょう。　ゲーム開始時には、我が国はたった18師団しか持っておらず、ほとんどの師団は半分の戦力しか補充されておらず、すべてが時代遅れの1918年式のモデルです。　よって、これから多くの努力を軍備拡大と陸軍の近代化につぎ込む必要があるでしょう。　30IC以下の国力では師団の補充を開始する前に追加の師団を多く作る余裕はないでしょう。　資金を節約する為に研究開発費用を75％に設定しました。　ただ、最初にやらねばならないことは不満度の解消となります。*4　不満度を完全に解消するには2、3ヶ月かかる予定です。　その後は、歩兵師団の建設に集中します。　アーセナル・オブ・デモクラシーでは連続生産での最初のユニットを建設するには80日余分にかかる事を覚えておかねばなりません。　よって、それほど多くの師団を作る予定ではありません。　37年の5月で歩兵の生産を止め、陸軍の補充と改良にICの使用を切り替えて、できるだけ補充と改良を行います。

Now that I have decided on my first target, I need to come up with a plan for my attack. Obviously Albania does not pose much of a threat so I will only need a couple of divisions to take care of them. Since I only have 18 divisions at the start of the game most being at half strength and all of them are obsolete model 1918s I am going to have to put a lot of effort into expanding and modernizing my army. With less than 30 IC I am not going to be able to build much before I have to reinforce. I set my technology spending at 75% to save some cash. The first order of business though is getting rid of my dissent. It takes a couple of months to remove my dissent. After that is done I can focus on building infantry. Keep in mind that it takes 80 additional days to build the first unit in a serial run in Arsenal of Democracy, so I am not going to be able to build that many divisions. By May of 37 I have to stop building infantry and switch to reinforcing and upgrading my army as much as possible.

1937年の9月1日には制限時間となり、我が国は戦争を始めなければならなくなりました。　さもなければ、冬季に戦う危険を冒すことになるでしょう。　イタリア攻撃の為に、25師団を用意する事ができました。　たった6師団のみが1936年式で、残りはすべて1918年式です。　アーセナル・オブ・デモクラシーでは海岸を防衛する事がとても重要になります。　何故ならAIは強襲上陸が大好きだからです。　イタリア軍が我が軍の防衛線の背後に出現するような事態はサイアクです。　AIはまた、危険な状況に対して迅速に反応するようになっているので、我が軍は迅速に動く必要があります。

By the first of September 1937, time has run out and I need to start the war now or risk having to fight in winter. I have been able to come up with 25 divisions to attack Italy with. I only have 6 1936 infantry and the rest are still 1918s. In Arsenal of Democracy it is Very important to guard your beaches because the AI loves to launch amphibious assaults. Italy getting behind my defenses would be Very bad. The AI also reacts quickly to threats so I am going to need to move fast. I expect Italy will have nearly its entire army on my border in less than a month. The first screen shot is of the situation when I declared war on Albania.

アルバニアは問題ではないと明らかになりましたが、イタリアが最終的にこちらに宣戦してくるまでに1月以上かかりました。　アーセナル・オブ・デモクラシーでの外交に関するAIは、アルマゲドンでの物ほど予想通りの動きをしません。

Albania proved to be no problem, but it took Italy more than a month to finally declare war on me. The diplomatic AI is not nearly as predictable in Arsenal of Democracy as it is in Armageddon.

我が軍は迅速にヴェニスとミラノを占領しました。　戦争開始から約2週間後、ドイツがイタリアに対して参戦する事を決定しました。　その後直ぐに、ギリシアとトルコも又、イタリアに対して宣戦しました。

I was able to quickly capture Venice and Milan. About two weeks after the war started, Germany decided to declare war on Italy. Soon after Greece and Turkey also declared war on Italy.

イタリア軍がアフリカから全軍を投入してきた為、トリノからボローニャまでの線を整えた所で我が軍の攻勢は止まってしまいました。　2倍以上の兵力差と技術の格差があったので、私にできることはイタリアからの和平の申し入れを待つこと位でした。　（ええ、確かにスクリーンショット上ではイタリア軍は10師団だと表示されています。　でも実際には20師団が各プロヴィンスにいました）

After forming a line from Turin to Bologna my offensive stalled as Italy was able to bring all of its troops from Africa. Outnumbered more than two to one and lacking behind technologically I was forced to wait for a peace offer from Italy. (yes I know it says 10? but there is actually 20 divisions in each of those provinces)

幸運にも、トルコが北アフリカを侵略してくれたので、イタリアはかなりこちらに有利な和平の申し込みをしてくれました。

Luckily Turkey decided to invade and take over North Africa so Italy made a rather generous peace offer.

そして、これにより、第一次対イタリア戦争は終結したのです。

And thus ends the first Italian war.

The Second Italian War - February 12, 2010

戦間期になっても、我が国は軍備の増強を続けました。　この間、参戦国は増えることはありませんでした。　1939年の1月に、私は自国の政府をファシストに代えることで、新たな国策が可能になりました。　2人の大臣を交代させ、更に2つの新たな国策を導入する事で合計14％の不満度を得てしまいました。　しかし、1939年の2月21日に、イタリアとの和平協定が期限切れになる時までには、我が国は攻撃を再開する準備が整っていました。　

In the interwar period I continued to build up my forces. No other countries entered the war. In January of 1939 I changed my government to Fascist which opened up some new national ideas. I changed two ministers and two national ideas giving me a total of 14 dissent. When the peace treaty with Italy expired on February 21st 1939 I was ready to continue my attack.

イタリア軍のほとんどがギリシアとトルコにいると言う状況で、我が軍はイタリア半島を簡単に蹂躙しました。イタリアが海軍をシシリアから動かさずに頑張っており、我が軍が海峡を渡ることを妨げていました。　また、別の艦隊をアドリア海の直ぐ外側に配置して、こちらの軍の輸送艦を封じ込めている為、この戦争をもって、イタリアを併合する望みはありませんでした。　戦争開始時点から、ギリシアがイタリア領を攻撃する為に通過する必要のある2つのプロヴィンスを保有しており、さらに、それら2つのプロヴィンスのうち一つは勝利点のあるプロヴィンスでした。　イタリアに和平を申し込んで、ギリシアとトルコをイタリアに併合させるのは魅力的でしたが、この場合良い考えではありません。　イタリアがドイツと同盟しているかどうかに関わらず、ソ連がドイツと戦争になると、イタリアがソ連に対して宣戦する可能性が高いからです。　ソ連が我が国のインドへの通り道を封鎖するという事は、我が国の世界征服への挑戦の為の、深刻な障害となるでしょう。

With most of Italy's armies in Greece and Turkey I was able to easily overrun the Italian Peninsula. Italy refused to move its navy away from Sicily which prevented me from crossing the strait. It also placed a fleet just outside of the Adriatic Sea trapping my transports and ending any hope of annexing Italy during this war. Naturally Greece happened to be holding the only two provinces I could attack Italy through plus one victory point province. As tempting as suing for peace and just letting Italy annex Greece and Turkey is, it's probably not a good idea. Italy likes to declare war on the Soviet Union when it is at war with Germany regardless of whether Italy is allied with Germany. The Soviet Union blocking my path to India would put a serious damper on my world conquest bid.

ギリシアは、イタリアから彼の国を救う為に我が国の軍を通過させてほしいと言う申し出を拒否していたので、我々としてはギリシアと同盟を結ぶ以外の選択肢がなくなりました。

Since Greece refused to allow me military access to save it from Italy, I had no choice but to form an alliance with Greece.

これにより、ギリシアを通過できるようになったので、我が軍はギリシアとトルコが彼らの領土からイタリア軍を駆逐するために手を貸す事ができました。　一方その頃、ドイツはソ連との間にモロトフ−リッペントロプ協定を結び、ポーランドを併合しました。　それに対して、連合は何の反応も見せませんでした。

With access to Greece I was able to help Greece and Turkey expel Italy from their lands. Meanwhile, Germany formed the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact with the Soviet Union and attacked and annexed Poland. The Allies did nothing.

イタリア軍を再び打ち破った事で、私は我が国の軍隊を自国領へと引き上げ、ギリシアとの同盟を破棄しました。　イタリアはこちらにシチリアと北アフリカを渡す事を条件に含んだ和平条約を申し込んできました。　私はこれを受諾しました。　何故ならこれにより、次の戦争でイタリアの艦隊と対決することなく、遂にイタリアを併合する事ができるからです。

With Italy defeated once again, I began moving my armies back home so I could end my alliance with Greece. Italy offered me a peace agreement that included Sicily and some of North Africa. I decided to take it because it would allow me to finally annex Italy in the next war without having to deal with its fleet.

Greece and Bulgaria - February 15, 2010

我が軍をギリシア領から離脱させて、我が国はギリシアとの同盟を破棄しました。　この時点で、私の心配は、ドイツがハンガリー、ルーマニア、そしてブルガリアと同盟を組むであろう事にありました。　通常ドイツは、1941年の春、ソ連に矛先を移す直前に、ユーゴスラヴィアに侵攻します。しかしながら、1940年が暮れるまで、ドイツは連合と平和な関係にあり、新たな戦争を起こしてはいません。　これらのバルカン諸国は、ソ連が1942年より後にドイツに対して宣戦した時であったとしても、枢軸に加わります。　ゲーム開始時点から続く独立保障のほとんどは1941年に期限切れとなるので、ソ連がこれらの国の領土を占領するのを邪魔するには、我が国はルーマニアとブルガリアを1941年の終わりまでに退場させねばなりません。　ハンガリーはあまり考慮に入れる必要はありません。　何故ならチェコスロヴァキアがソ連との間に障壁となっているからです。

After my troops had exited Greece I broke off my alliance with Greece. At this point I began to worry that Germany would form an alliance with Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria. Normally Germany attacks Yugoslavia in the spring of 1941 right before they take on the Soviet Union. As 1940 drew on though, Germany remained at peace with the Allies and did not start any new wars. All of those countries will still join the Axis when the Soviet Union attacks sometime after 1942. Since most of the starting guarantees of independence expire in 1941, that means I have to take out Romania and Bulgaria by the end of 1941 to keep the Soviet Union from getting them. Hungary is less important because Czechoslovakia is shielding it from the Soviet Union.

1940年の11月28日に、ギリシアがイタリアとの白紙講和を結びました。　ギリシアが連合に加入するであろう事は確実なので、できる限り速やかにギリシアを排除せねばなりません。　さもなければ、連合が我が国の世界征服計画にとっての深刻な障害となって立ちふさがるでしょう。　あらかじめ言っておきますが、この時点までで、我が国の好戦性はかなり高くなり始めてきています。　アメリカ合衆国のAIは高い好戦性を持つ国に対して宣戦するようにプログラムされているので、できる限り戦争を吹っ掛けられる時期を遅らせるためにアメリカ合衆国との関係の改善をし始める必要があります。

On November 28 1940 Greece agrees to a white peace with Italy. Given that Greece is sure to join the Allies, I must get rid of it as soon as possible or risk the Allies putting a serious damper on my conquest plans. It should be noted that by this point my belligerence is starting to get rather high. Since the United States AI is programmed to declare war on countries with high belligerence, I need to start improving my relations with the United States to put that off as long as possible.

ギリシアと戦う計画をあらかじめ立てていたわけではないので、ギリシアとの国境には3師団しかいませんでしたが、ギリシアは3ヶ月しか持ちこたえられませんでした。

Even though I am not expecting a fight with Greece and have only three divisions on their border, Greece is only able to hold out for three months.

ギリシアが排除されたので、次にブルガリアを攻撃する準備を始めました。ギリシアとの戦争は予想外の物でしたが、この結果として、ブルガリアを南から攻めると言う選択肢ができました。　ブルガリア内のVPを有するプロヴィンス（VPプロヴィンス）には南から到達するのが楽なので、その方向から攻撃するのが最善の道です。

With Greece out of the way I prepare to attack Bulgaria. Although the Greek war was unexpected it did provide me with the option of attacking Bulgaria from the south. Since Bulgaria's victory points are easily accessible from the south that is by far the best direction to attack it from.

ブルガリアを征服する事は、少数の軍隊で攻めても楽なものでした。　直接3つのVPプロヴィンスに侵攻し、併合しただけです。　ですが、これからの戦争はこれほど楽なものとはならないでしょう。

Taking over Bulgaria proves to be rather easy even with a small army. I can just head directly for the three victory point provinces and annex them. My future wars will not be so easy.

ユーゴスラヴィアβAAR　第4部　ルーマニア　−　2010年02月16日
Romania - February 16 2010

普通、ルーマニアを南から攻めるのは楽な事です。　なぜなら、ルーマニアには2つのVPプロヴィンスしかなく、その2つのプロヴィンスが南端に積み重なっているからです。　しかしながら、今回のゲームではブルガリアはコンスタンツィアを奪い取ってはいません。　ブカレストを第2の方向から攻める為のプロヴィンスが無く、機甲師団ももっていないという現状ではルーマニアが増援を到着させるまでに両プロヴィンスを占領する事はほとんど不可能です。　コンスタンツィアがルーマニアの手にあることで、今回の戦いは対ギリシアや対ブルガリアよりも厳しい者となる事は確実でしょう。

Normally attacking Romania from the south is pretty easy because it only has two victory point provinces which happen to be stacked on top of each other. However in this game Bulgaria did not take the province of Constanta. Without a second province to attack Bucharest from and without any armor it makes taking both provinces before Romania can reinforce almost impossible. With Constanta in Romanian hands it will certainly be a harder fight than Greece or Bulgaria was.

この事を考慮して、私は自国の全師団をこの攻撃に投入する事を決断しました。　アーセナル・オブ・デモクラシーではAIの海軍による侵攻が高い確率で起きるので、私は歩兵師団を海岸の防衛隊として頻繁に使います。　ですが、この場合、ルーマニアは海軍による侵攻を行えないので、すべての師団を投入しても安全です。

Keeping that in mind I have decided to use all of my divisions for this attack. In Arsenal of Democracy I prefer to use infantry divisions as beach defenders because of the high probably of AI naval invasion. Since Romania is not going to be doing any naval invasions it is safe to use all of my divisions.

AI国のプロヴィンスが攻撃された時、AIは、しばしば、すべての予備の師団を送り込みます。　よって、上手い戦略としては、囮となる攻撃をまず行い、AIにあまり重要でない地域に軍隊を送らせる事です。　次の写真では私がまずルーマニアの西部で攻勢を始めて、ルーマニア軍を実際の目標である中部から引き離しているのが分かるでしょう。

The AI often sends any divisions it can spare when one of its provinces is under attack. So a good strategy is to launch a diversionary attack first so the AI sends its forces to a less vital region. In the next picture you will see that I have started an attack in the western part of Romania first to draw its forces away from the intended target in the center.

ルーマニアを打ち破った後に、自国の軍隊をハンガリー国境に配置し、1942年の春に行う予定の次の攻撃に備えさせます。

After defeating Romania I positioned my troops on the Hungarian border to prepare for the next attack in the spring of 1942.

この戦間期に、日本が連合に対する戦争を開始しました。

While I was waiting Japan kicked off the war against the Allies.
