東部戦線は4月1日ぐらいまで完全に静寂状態のままだった。　この頃からドイツ軍はフィンランドで我が軍への攻勢を再開した。　ほぼ同時に、彼らはキエフの南と東で強力な攻勢を開始した。　個別のイベントでシリアが枢軸に加わり、イラクは連合を離脱した。　

All was quiet on the Eastern Front until around the first of April. At that time German forces restarted their push through Finland. Around the same time, they started a strong offensive to the south and east of Kiev. In other events, Syria joined the Axis and Iraq left the Allies.

キエフ南での攻撃はあまりにも強く、私はこちらの師団すべてをドニエプル川の後ろへと引かせなければならないかと思われた。　100師団以上を包囲で失うことは惨劇以外の何物でもなかったであろう。　幸いにも、我が軍は反撃を開始ができ、ドイツ人たちが罠の口を閉じるのを防ぐことができた。　その後、ドイツ軍は戦線の中央に攻撃を集中させて来た為、我が軍はクルスクへと退却せねばならなかった。　これにより、ドイツ軍はモスクワの真南にまで達し、彼らの行く手にはほとんど何も立ち塞がっていなかった。

The attacks in the south were so strong that it looked like I was going to have to pull all my divisions on the southern front behind the Dnieper River Losing over 100 divisions from an encirclement would have been devastating. I was able to launch a counter attack and prevent the Germans from closing the trap. The Germans then concentrated their attention to the center of the line and I had to retreat to Kursk. This puts the Germans just south of Moscow with hardly anything standing in their way.

この時点まで、北方戦線はほぼ何も無かった。　ただ、ドイツ軍は戦線の突出部をやや北側に広げていた。

The northern front so far has been pretty quiet. The Germans were able to extend the bulge in my lines slightly northward though.

フィンランド戦線ではヘルシンキからケムへの線までソ連軍は後退せねばならなかった。　ノルウェイに上陸したイギリス軍は全く前進していなかった。

In the Finland front I had to retreat to a line stretching from Helsinki to Kem. The United Kingdom has not made any progress in Norway.

アルマゲドンでの私の経験では1942年の春の間に、ドイツ軍は押され始め、その年の終わりまでにはほぼソ連と連合による陣取り合戦のような様相を呈するのが常だった。　しかし、アーセナル・オブ・デモクラシーではこのようになることはない。　我が軍は現在、攻撃をかけられるような状態にはない。　研究速度が低下した事が陸軍ドクトリンの技術開発のかなりの妨げとなっている。　何故なら、これら一線上に並び、一つが開発されるまで次に取り掛かれないからだ。　1942年の中盤までに、どの種類の組み立てライン技術も研究できていない。　現在の我が国のICはたった350程度であり、アルマゲドンで簡単に600程度まで達していたのとは大違いである。　私の意見ではこれらの事はすべてアーセナル・オブ・デモクラシーの深みを増し、また、楽しめる物としている。

In my experiences with Armageddon during the spring of 1942 was when the Germans started to be pushed back and by the end of the year it more or less a race between the Soviet Union and the Allies to claim the most territory. This is not the case in Arsenal of Democracy. I am currently in no position to be making any attacks. Slowing down research has really hampered my Land Doctrine techs because they are all stacked in a line. It is the middle of 1942 and I have not research any of the assembly line techs. My IC is only around 350 while I could get it 600 in Armageddon with ease. In my opinion this makes Arsenal of Democracy much more interesting and enjoyable.
